Classroom News:
Hello! We will be busy next week wrapping up our family traditions unit, taking a math test on fact families and missing addends, and getting ready to go on winter break. There will be no homework or spelling words assigned this week since it is a short and busy week.
We will meet Ms. Homer's 5th grade class in the first grade flex room at 8:40 on Dec 19 (Wed) to enjoy a special visit from two different guest speakers and team up with our big buddies to work on two craft projects. We will be learning how winter holidays are celebrated in India and the Philippines.
On Dec 20 (Thurs) your child may wear PJs to school, bring one stuffed animal that fits inside his/her backpack and one board or card game with his/her name on it to school (i.e. Uno, Go Fish, Trouble, Connect4, Sorry, etc).
We will enjoy a winter wonderland theme party on Dec 20 (Thurs) 1:35-3:15 in the first grade flex room. The children will enjoy four or five 15 to 20 minute activity centers: snowman games, reindeer card craft, snowflake ornament crafts, cookie decorating and juice station, & stocking lacing craft. If you would like to help set up/clean up and supervise fun activities for the kids; please click HERE to sign up. We also will need donations for our party. If you can donate something by Dec 19 please click above. Thanks for your help!
Please remember that there is no school on Dec 21 (Fri) until Jan 7 (Mon). BASE will be open during part of this break.
